This proposed Author-Meets-Critics session celebrates the new critical edition of Alain Locke's Haiti lectures, edited and supplemented with a substantial interpretive essay by Jacoby Adeshei Carter. This text, _African American Contributions to the Americas’ Cultures_, is likely to advance Lockean scholarship, Inter-American philosophy, and the philosophy of race. Erin McKenna (Oregon), Corey L. Barnes (Loyola University, Chicago) in lieu of Terrance MacMullan (Eastern Washington), and Dwayne Tunstall (Grand Valley State) will serve as critics. Lee McBride (Wooster) will chair the session.
